Oatmeal recipes to be tried:
So far I’ve come up with (and successfully created) 4 delicious, healthy oatmeals, and I’m gonna try and brainstorm some more. If you have any ideas, HIT ME UP! I fricken love oatmeal and would love to try all sots of yummy combos!
So far I have my Cocoa Oatmeal of Happiness:
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
- Scant 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice, or you could use all water too!)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Teensy pinch salt
- 2 tsp Splenda
- 3 walnut halves, chopped
- Put oats, cocoa, water, almond milk, salt, vanilla, and walnuts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for about 1 minute, or until it starts to boil a little. Then put it on low power and microwave it for another 5 minutes. Stir. Add Splenda and sit again. Now add a splash more of almond milk if you like, or just chow down right away!
Aaaand my Maple-Walnut-Banana Oatmeal of Joy:
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 3 walnut halves, chopped
- 1/4 banana, mashed
- Teensy pinch salt
- Cinnamon to taste
- 1/4 banana, sliced into small pieces
- 1 tsp Splenda
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp +1/4 tsp maple extract/imitation
- Scant 1 cup water/milk of choice (I like my oatmeal thick though, so if you want it thinner, add more water!)
- Put oats, salt, water, walnuts, vanilla, cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp maple in to a micro-safe bowl. Microwave on high for about 1 minute, or till it boils a little. Then microwave on low power for another 3 minutes. Take out, and mix the mashed banana in. Microwave on low for another 2 minutes. Stir. Add Splenda, the 1/4 tsp maple, and your sliced banana. Add a splash of milk, or eat as is. Enjoy!
And my Pumpkin Oatmeal of Pure Goodness:
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1/4 cup pureed pumpkin
- Pumpkin pie spice (or cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg) to taste
- 2 tsp Splenda
- 1 cup water/milk of choice
- Teensy bit salt
- 4 pecan halves, chopped
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Put oats, water, pumpkin, spice, salt, vanilla, and pecans into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for about 1 minute, or until it boils a little. Then microwave on low power for another 5 minutes. Stir. Add Splenda, and chow down, or add a splash of milk/dollop of yogurt for a little coolness!
And lastly, my PB2-Banana Oatmeal of Awesome:
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1 cup water/milk of choice
- 1-2 tbsp PB2 powder (or 1-2 tbsp regular peanut butter, or other nut butter, up to you, really!)
- 1/4 banana, sliced
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Teensy pinch salt
- Cinnamon to taste
- 2 tsp Splenda
- Put oats, water, PB2, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for about 1 minute, or until it boils a little. Then microwave for another 5 minutes on low power. Stir. Add Splenda and your banana slices. Enjoy as is or with a splash of milk/a dollop of yogurt!
